Decisions, decisions...
Less than a week to the first Moeker gig we're all getting very excited here at the secret underground lair. Digitals have been primed, analogues have been tuned, an appointment has been made at the hairdressers. Everything is Under Control.
There's only one questions that remains (other than will any of you lot turn up, but we're moderately confident that one or two of you might possibly)....WHAT TO WEAR? Without major label backing it's difficult to find a stylist, and apart from Tim's suggestions (which we're pointedly ignoring) there's no-one willing to take on the task of providing The Look.
Personally I think legwarmers are a no-no. Big disco collars? Hmmmm. Makeup? Almost certainly. Particularly for Martin.

13:18 28 Jun 2004 The Porn Melodies
(or The Hidden Dangers of Wakka-Chikka pt. I)
So we've ressurected Static, one of the old SP faves for the new band and to make it fit nicely with the new vibe we've tweaked it some. This includes the addition of what we like to refer to as "porn star guitar", the kind of muted wah-wah madness that was so popular back in the 70s.
What people don't realise is playing this stuff gives me one dead leg and and interesting new set of callouses on my hands.
Maybe porn isn't good for you after all. :-(

11:59 11 Jun 2004 Make mine a Moeker

So here we are...hiatus almost over, singer back in the country, first gig booked. We're rehearsing the new tunes, programming patches, fitting Martin with his MIDI port, sorting out all the new promo materials, Timmay! is working on a new site. Hell, we even have the t-shirts sorted. It's all coming together nicely.
Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves.
We am Moeker.

13:48 25 May 2004 End of the road.....
And so my adventures come to and end. 6 months of unpacking and repacking my bags, sweating profusly at all times, rolling up my trouser legs to avoid piss covered floors and taking care not to eat no-name meats. Sounds delighgtful - but no really - I had a great time :)
Anyway, its back to the music now and hopefully some sucess under the new band name Moeker (however, its pronounced). See you on stage - I'll be the tanned one.

06:21 22 Apr 2004 Antipodean Rawk
So. Rogers and I are in Melbourne at the moment soaking up some sunshine and drinking the local establishments out of Carlton Draught (don't ever believe the posts that claim this band works hard).
After one such evening of debauchery we accidentally found ourselves at an open mic night in a bar called "Zimmer's" (I think) and somehow I managed to coax Sarah up to sing and we did a couple of numbers ("Burn" and "Blind") and it rocked as far as either of us can remember. People clapped at least.
Slide Pheromone (Acoustic Division) has now played the Southern Hemisphere.

23:40 24 Feb 2004 What's in a name?
We're currently trying to think up a new band name, and damn is it hard to come up with something good that obeys Sharkey's First Law: the top-level .com domain must be available. As a result, I've found that virtually every single English word and most cool combinations of words have been registered as domains. It's a little frustrating, to say the least!
Most unlikely suggestion to date: Bigness Martian Rebel Engineering. Hmm...

22:05 19 Jan 2004 I'm dreaming of a white sand Christmas......
And yes that's exactly what it was. However, Christmas day on the beach was a bit strange, I had to wear a bikni which obviously screwed with standard xmas eating philosophy - stuff down so much you have to undo your belt! And where was the shit Christmas movie?
So why has no-one else been writing this diary? Here's my best music experience in Australia to fill the gap. I have expeienced the ultimate in techo music - a band with a didgeridoo and two drummers. I've never heard music like it - you just couldn't help but move your body. It was tribal while still being sophisticated. We need more of this in London.
Anyway, I have go, the life of the traveller is ever moving.
Happy New Year and Christmas.
